A man was stabbed in the arm Saturday evening, according to Lawrence police.
Officers were called to a disturbance around 6 p.m. across the street from the library in the 700 block of Vermont Street.
“Several people took off on foot when officers arrived, but officers were able to detain and question many of them,” according to a social media post from LPD.
Officers arrested one man for outstanding warrants, and they arrested another after they released him from questioning because he was intoxicated in the roadway, according to the post.
“Despite finding blood evidence in the road and observing blood on some of the men, none cooperated with police, including the victim, who was transported the the hospital,” the post stated.
A patrol service dog was sent to search the scene for a weapon which had not yet been found as of 9 p.m. Saturday, said Laura McCabe, a spokesperson for the police department. Police will continue to investigate, according to the post.
